Inspired by a legendary prototype developed during the late 1960’s, one that was proposed to the US Navy, the Tudor Black Bay P01 watch remains one of the Swiss watch manufacturer’s most coveted releases. It’s durable 42mm stainless steel case with satin-brushed finishing is guaranteed to be your next diving companion offering a 200 metre water resistance helped by a screw down winding crown at 4 o’clock and a 60-notch, 12 hour graduated bi-directional rotating bezel in steel.
At the centre, and beneath scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass, the second-hand Tudor Black Bay watch opts for a smooth black dial set with luminous hardware for the hour markers and hands. Like so many of Tudor’s diving watches, the hour hand boasts a characteristic square tip, known in collector’s circles as “the Snowflake”, for easy differentiation against the minutes hand. Powering the hours, minutes, seconds and date complication is the Tudor Manufacture Calibre MT5612, a chronometer certified Swiss made mechanical movement with a bidirectional rotor system. It offers an impressive 70 hour power reserve which means you can take off the preowned Tudor watch on Friday evening and put it on again on Monday morning without having to wind it.
